BIBLIOTECA / THE BOOKCASE

The one from 2003 was my BFA project. Back then the subject interested me the most for its figurative-abstract realm. There were also other aspects: the general significance of the bookcase made them all attractive to me and this one particularly, I had it in front of me, in the studio. When a study is initiated, it takes you further, so it remained open. In 2012 the same subject became a “metaphor” for the group exhibition theme “Loneliness in the Crowd”, as a counterpart of another painting of the same sizes and the same compositional structure, representing a “Block of Flats”.
